The book was written by Rick Riordan(pictured left). The book is about three kids named Jason Grace, Piper McLean, and Leo Valdez. Jason Grace is more of a main character than Piper and Leo.
Jason suffers amnesia and one day he woke up on a bus, sittng next to Piper and not knowing where he is. He is the son of Zeus but he refers to him in his Roman form which is Jupiter. When he wakes up on the bus, the school is going on a field trip where his first battle, that he remembers, is taken place. At this battle his fighting techniques kick in and he looks like natural. He also owns a very rare golden coin that turns into a weapon when he throws up into the air, which he used in that battle. When he's taken back to Camp Half-Blood Chiron, the camp leader says that he isn't supposed to be alive. At the end of the book he remembers a lot and knows where he came from.
Piper McLean is the average tom-boy. She has a major secret that she doesn't like people knowing:Her father is the famous movie actor, Tristan McLean. When Jason appears on the bus she claims that Jason's her boyfriend. Later she learns that it was all the mist and she never really had him as a boyfriend. When she gets back to the camp she learns that her mother is Aphrodite, godess of love. From her mother she has the abality to charmspeak, to persuade poeple to do as she says. At the end of the book something happens to her father and he learns that his daughter is a demigod.
Leo, on the other hand, is very adventuress and has a sense of humor. His mother died when he was very young and he feels it was his fault. When Jason appears on the bus, Leo claims they're bestfriends. When they go to Camp Half-Blood, Leo is claimed by Hepheastus. After this Leo goes on an adventure in the forest and finds an old bunker, where he gets a magical toolbelt allowing him to have alomst any weapon. After he finds this he fixes a magical dragon, which nobody else in the could have. He also has a rare ability given to som Hephaestus children where he could produce fire out of nothing.
